Aidan chose Diego as his theme for birthday #4. Rachel made his cake in line with the Diego decorations at Papa D and Grammie's (the Deur grandparents) home after pizza and games (Skee-Ball, etc.) at Happy Joe's in Pella.
The theme for Kellen's first birthday was barnyard animals. The guest of honor got his own cake (below) and the non-featured guests ate Rachel's tasty creation shown here. Thanks to Papa's (grandpa Christensen) slicing, the portions were very hearty.

An unsuspecting box of Kix is about to meet it's demise. Kellen is constantly in the cupboards and open boxes of cereal are trouble waiting to happen. We lost a box of Chex...(moment of silence)...the other day.
Our biggest challenge in Kellen's snacking (or any eating for that matter) is getting him to pace himself. Only the supervising eyes of his parents keep him from jamming fists of food into his impatient mouth...well, most of the time.
Aidan thought we should have our first formal dinner in the new house at the boys' new picnic table. The menu was hot dogs and Cheetos Puffs. Rachel and I joined the boys at the table moments later. Disregard the McDonald's bag in the background. That was an informal eat-and-run during unpacking, not the sophisticated affair surrounding this picture.
A common sight when dad's in charge of the boys during the day. In my defense, Aidan loves wearing his PJs as long as possible and this picture was taken well before noon.
The stylish Kellen either dresses to impress regardless of the hour or perhaps he's just getting in from a Mardi Gras themed party.
