Aidan is enjoying a successful second year in school excelling in all things related to first grade. I joined him in class on his birthday and watched him in action. He likes to challenge me with the things he's learning and has supplied us with some humorous moments as well.
found out on the way home from school that Aidan had worn one of his boots and one of Kellen's today. He was three sizes too small on one side during recess. Kellen never mentioned that one of his boots felt a little roomy. (February 4)
noticed Aidan's shirt was inside out before we headed to church. I did not recognize the fact that his pants were on backwards. (February 6)
is in training for the new game show "Are You Smarter Than A 1st Grader". Every day when I pick Aidan up from school he hits me with a barrage of questions. I've learned he is never inquiring...he's testing me. (February 8)
had the following conversation with one of Aidan's classmates earlier today. Kid: Tomorrow is Lincoln's birthday! Me: I'm pretty sure Lincoln's birthday is on Saturday. Kid: No, it's tomorrow. Lincoln is my hermit crab. Me: Oh...does he have a beard? Kid: He's got whiskers. Me: Cool. (February 10)
was quizzed earlier in the week on the intricacies of backing up a vehicle and the effects of turning the wheel in different directions while in reverse. Aidan said he didn't want to get that part of his driver's test wrong if asked. Nothing beats getting prepared eight years ahead of schedule! (March 16)
has Aidan at home today. It's the only snow day he's had in two years...and it's March 23. Whodathunkit? (March 23)
